Sainte-Anne-des-Monts is the main service city at the heart of the regional county municipality. Home to many government offices, a hospital and several educational institutions, Sainte-Anne-des-Monts is also the site of the Maison de la Culture, the Blanche-Lamontagne library, the Francis-Pelletier auditorium and an exhibition space. The eastern sector of the town, Tourelle, has kept its maritime character and is well known for preserving the oral traditions of the French-speaking world.

The gateway to the Parc national de la Gaspésie, Sainte-Anne-des-Monts is also renowned for its driftwood art collection, with new works added every year thanks to a festival held every August that attracts artists from all over for four days of creation and entertainment.
