La femme cachée

Halima, a French woman of Algerian origin, is pregnant with her second child. When she learns that this time she will have a boy, traumatic memories resurface. She then has to admit to her Quebecois husband, Sylvain, that she has lied to him about her family all these years. She is not an orphan as she has always maintained: her father, mother, sisters and brothers are alive and well. Halima at the same time announces to Sylvain that she needs to return to France. As he refuses to let her leave alone, they fly together to Europe, with their young daughter Léa. There, Sylvain will follow his wife on this pilgrimage to repair herself, gradually learning about her deep wounds. He never expected such revelations.
