Priscilla Guy
Originally from Sherbrooke, Priscilla chose to anchor in Marsoui in the summer of 2018, after living in Montreal and Toronto for 15 years. Does she regret her choice? No way ! Over the last 6 years, the artistic director and co-general director of the organization Mandoline Hybride is proud to have contributed to the vitality and influence of this small village of 266 inhabitants.
Young and full of ideas, she arrived in Marsoui to develop daring cultural projects in a splendid landscape. It wishes to offer local audiences artistic experiences that are rare in the region and to offer national and international artists opportunities to come and meet rural environments. This is how the Salon58 artist residency, FURIES — contemporary dance festival and L’Hybride — café & bookstore were born.
The arrival of Priscilla in the region brought new life to the village, but also to the entire Haute-Gaspésienne community. While working to promote the dynamism of her community, she hopes to present her latest multidisciplinary choreographic show in Gaspésie.
The tranquility of Gaspésie tempers Priscilla’s daily life outside of her very social work and her 100 mile per hour pace of life. She is passionate about reading (ah that’s where the idea of opening a café & bookstore in Marsoui comes from). She loves little moments of silence and solitude where she enjoys taking care of her plants or listening to the sound of the Marsoui River.
Priscilla’s favorite
“The intergenerational friendships and the people I would never have met when I lived in Montreal who allow me exceptional encounters around coffee, good food or a board game. This aspect of my social life here is very dear to me. »
