The RCM
of La Haute-Gaspésie

The RCM (regional county municipality) of La Haute-Gaspésie is located in eastern Quebec. The Haute-Gaspésie is considered part of the Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine region both administratively and for tourism. The Haute-Gaspésie includes eight municipalities with a total population of 12,700. Moving from west to east, they are Cap-Chat, Sainte-Anne-des-Monts (administrative seat), La Martre, Marsoui, Rivière-à-Claude, Mont-Saint-Pierre, Saint-Maxime- du-Mont-Louis, and Sainte-Madeleine-de-la-Rivière-Madeleine.

Stretching along nearly 138 kilometres of coastline, the Haute-Gaspésie’s location between the mountains and the sea makes it a unique tourist destination. It is also the main gateway to Gaspésie National Park, located just 30 minutes from Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, the administrative seat of the RCM.
