Dimanche à Sodome – Theatre

Sunday in Sodom is a stage adaptation of several verses from the Bible describing the destruction of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah under God’s wrath. The play offers a feminist reinterpretation of these events, told from the perspective of Lot’s wife. In the Bible, this character is never named; she is mentioned only once, when she is turned into a pillar of salt, for disobeying God by turning back and watching the destruction of her city. In this ancient biblical tale, which resonates with the pressing issues of today, the author gives a face to the woman who disobeyed, thus giving voice to this mother and wife who has been silenced.

Les Écornifleuses invites you to a masterful creation that has earned numerous distinctions including the AQCT Critics’ Awards for best show, best direction and best performance, the Theatre Award for best sound design, as well as the Périscope Theatre Student Jury Award for best show of the 23-24 season.
