Guillaume Campion – Residency Showcase

During his two-week residency at the chapel, Guillaume continued composing his work *Sieste sonore no. 1*.
This piece is an immersive sound work (featuring four speakers surrounding the audience) commissioned by the FURIES festival, where it will premiere on July 24, 2026. The residency showcase will offer a glimpse into the work’s creative process without revealing its final form.

BIOGRAPHY
Guillaume Campion is a composer and sound artist born in Sainte-Anne-des-Monts. After college-level studies in classical guitar, he earned a master’s degree in electroacoustic music composition. In 2015, he co-founded the collective Trames with composer Guillaume Côté, dedicating himself to sound creation and the democratization of digital audio practices. Since 2022, he has been exploring the intersection of instrumental practice and electronic improvisation through his solo project, *Le bouscueil*.
Deeply rooted in his native landscape, his artistic approach draws its raw material from the sounds and textures of the Haute-Gaspésie region, addressing themes of identity and heritage through the interstices of territory and history. Blending music, spoken word, and soundscapes, most of his works sit at the crossroads of experimental music and audio documentary.
