On snowshoes

Snowshoeing is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a peaceful moment, to feel the silence of the forests and admire the winter landscapes one step at a time. Here are some the best places to put on your snowshoes… and depending on the snow depth, some walks can even be done in boots.

– In Mont-Saint-Pierre, two must-see trails: the Delta Trail, which leads directly to the summit of
Mont Saint-Pierre, and the Lynx Trail, which offers a viewpoint of Mont François-Bernèche.

Gaspésie National Park, a must-see in the Haute-Gaspesie, marks more than twenty trails accessible to all levels.

– The outdoor centers in Cap-Chat and Sainte-Anne-des-Monts offer some trails perfect for an outing with family or friends. • Through year-round hiking trails, several coastal villages offer perfect options for discovering peaceful routes between the sea and the mountains.

– Finally, the Village Grande Nature Chic-Chocs resort provides access to several trails in an enchanting setting in the heart of the Chic-Choc Mountains.

In cross-country skiing

Freshly groomed trails, accessible to all, in enchanting settings. Cross-country skiing offers a perfect balance between exertion and relaxation, with the added bonus of snowy landscapes as far as the eye can see:

– The Lynx cross-country ski club, just steps from downtown Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, offers groomed trails covering approximately 20 kilometers.

– The trails of the Vallée des Pins Blancs, nestled in the valley at Saint-Maxime-du-Mont-Louis, offer a route along the Mont-Louis River for
8 kilometers.

Gaspésie National Park maintains cross-country ski trails that provide access to majestic landscapes.

– The Village Grande Nature Chic-Chocs also offers several accessible trails in the forest.

On the ice rinks

The region’s outdoor skating rinks and arenas offer opportunities for fun and socializing. Accessible and safe outdoor facilities can be found in Les Capucins, Cap-Chat, Sainte-Anne-Des-Monts, Tourelle, Cap-Seize, Mont-Louis, and Gros-Morne.

The arenas in Cap-Chat and Sainte-Anne-Des-Monts occasionally offer the chance to watch local hockey games. Depending on the schedule, it is also possible to participate in open skating or hockey sessions, sheltered from the elements.

On fatbike

Fat biking offers an exhilarating way to explore snow-covered trails and icy beaches, leading to unparalleled coastal and forest panoramas. The beaches of Cap-Chat and Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, accessible in early and late winter, are perfect for learning to fat bike, allowing you to admire the coastline for several kilometers. Finally, trails are also available in Gaspésie National Park, making the region a vast playground for enthusiasts.

In ice climbing

For thrill-seekers, ice climbing offers a truly unique challenge. Climb frozen walls with ice axes and crampons in hand, and let yourself be amazed by spectacular scenery that makes every ascent unforgettable.

Experienced climbers can put their skills to the test, among others, on the Gueule de Requin walls in Mont-Saint-Pierre or in the Anse Pleureuse sector, in the Cavaliers du Vent area. Please note that these sites are accessible autonomously and at your own risk. They are intended exclusively for highly experienced individuals who are properly equipped to move safely in winter vertical terrain.
