Leave well informed

Want to snowmobile around the Gaspé Peninsula in winter? Yes, it’s possible! The Gaspé Peninsula boasts no less than 3,000 kilometers of groomed and marked trails that will provide you with unforgettable experiences. Along all the routes, a network of rest stops welcomes you to warm up, grab a bite to eat, or simply relax before setting off again to explore this vast territory

The snowmobile section of Tourisme Gaspésie provides essential information before you leave, as well as a map of the Gaspé Peninsula snowmobile trails, which you can order in print or download to plan your trip!

Once you arrive, keep the link to the interactive map from the Quebec Federation of Snowmobile Clubs handy to check trail conditions in real time. And don’t forget to purchase your trail access permit for Quebec.

Off-trail snowmobiling, follow the correct route

The Haute-Gaspésie region attracts off-trail snowmobiling enthusiasts every winter, drawn by their sense of freedom and thrills. However, before venturing into the backcountry, it’s crucial to remember that caution and knowledge of the terrain are essential.

This exceptional territory demands respect and vigilance. Certain areas, such as the Gaspesie National Park and the Chic-Chocs Wildlife Reserve, are off-limits to snowmobiles. Other zones, located on private land or in reforestation areas, are also inaccessible. It is therefore vital to gather information before setting out and to opt for outings with professional guides who are familiar with the terrain conditions and permitted areas.

To fully enjoy the spectacular landscapes of Haute-Gaspésie while remaining safe, hire a certified guide. These experts will ensure an unforgettable off-trail experience, tailored to your skill level and in complete safety.

Did you know that snowmobilers are also at risk of being victims of an avalanche?
Yes indeed! Off-trail snowmobiling in the mountains has its dangers, and avalanches are among the real risks that enthusiasts face. Before each outing, it is essential to be well-informed, properly equipped, and accompanied.

To ensure that the mountains remain a safe playground in winter, get informed before you go!
