Winter activities

Winter is the time to find your inner child, take a deep breath of fresh air and enjoy the joys that this season has to offer in our magnificent corner of the country. Wrap your scarf, put on your beanie and go on an adventure!

On snowshoes

This winter take the time to go on a few snowshoe excursions while enjoying the great outdoors, nothing better for morale! In Haute-Gaspésie you will have a large choice of trails and different places to fill your lungs with fresh air. You have access to the Mont-St-Pierre trails, a dozen trails in the Gaspésie park, several trails in our two outdoor centers (SADM and Cap-Chat) as well as several other trails like in Mont-Louis and in the Village Grande Nature.

In cross-country skiing

The Lynx cross-country ski club is a stone’s throw from downtown Sainte-Anne-des-Monts and offers trails over around twenty kilometers. An invigorating outdoor experience, whether you are a beginner or experienced. 

Discover the trails of the Valley of the Pines. In the hollow of the valley, in Saint-Maxime-du-Mont-Louis, enjoy the cross-country ski trails that run along the Mont-Louis River for eight kilometers (also accessible by snowshoes) .

Go to the Gaspesie park to go cross-country skiing on numerous trails for this purpose and enjoy majestic landscapes. 

Enjoy multiple trails at the Village Grande Nature.

On the ice rinks

Whether at one of the many outdoor rinks in the region (Les Capucins, Cap-Chat, Sainte-Anne-Des-Monts, Tourelle, Cap-Seize, Mont-Louis, Gros-Morne), all skaters can enjoy have fun while meeting great people. The Cap-Chat and Sainte-Anne-Des-Monts arenas offer the opportunity to play hockey and do free skating according to the current schedule

On fatbike

Easily accessible at the beginning and end of winter, when the ice permits, the beaches of Cap-Chat and Sainte-Anne-des-Monts are perfect for taming the practice of fatbiking. You can contemplate the splendors of the Haute-Gaspésie coastline for several kilometers! In addition, several trails are accessible in the Gaspesie Park to feed your passion for fatbiking and therefore increase your adrenaline. With its immense forest territory, Haute-Gaspésie is a great playground for fatbike enthusiasts. For more information on the different trails and for rental and repair of fatbikes visit Biseak.

In ice climbing

Haute-Gaspésie is full of magnificent icy walls in winter and benefits from excellent ice quality given that the cliffs face north. Experienced climbers will be able to put their talent to the test by scaling the walls of Mont Saint-Pierre, the Corneille wall, the Gueule de Requin or at Anse Pleureuse in the Cavaliers du Vent. In our outdoor centers

In Haute-Gaspésie we have outdoor centers for the whole family! The Cap-Chat Outdoor Center with eleven trails and the Haute-Gaspésie Outdoor Center with eighteen trails (in Sainte-Anne-des-Monts) promise hours of fun for alpine ski lovers, snowboarding, telemarking, snowshoeing or tubing. You can rent equipment and even repair it. In addition you also have access to a catering service and even a bar for après-ski. In the center of Cap-Chat, an ice rink is available to visitors.
