Antoine Blier
Antoine was only 18 years old when he and his friends discovered an exceptional site at the foot of the Chic-Chocs. It is in this welcoming land that the group of young people in their early twenties decide to settle down to live in community. This is where the first roots of the RAC City Outdoor Cooperative will grow.
Antoine knows the Gaspésie very well and he has traveled back and forth from Rimouski/Haute-Gaspésie to ski in the Chic-Chocs. It was a job as a ski photographer in Murdochville that officially kept him in the region.
So, in 2018, he and his friends acquired a gigantic 45 hectare plot of land with the aim of establishing themselves there in the heart of nature, but also in the hope of developing this exceptional site. One thing led to another, young people from all over Quebec came to settle there, the project took shape and RAC was born. They are building together “a dream life” where more than ten people now live together, adhering to the values of the community based on mutual aid, respect and sharing.
Today, RAC is a site designed for off-piste skiing, a professional guiding service, a unique cultural tourist offer, unusual accommodation open to tourists and a market gardening site which produces to the great joy of the population of tasty winter vegetables.
Despite his young age, Antoine is proud of what he has built and dreams of great projects for the region. His motto: bring as many people as possible here, while remaining small and authentic.
