Tale bright as a precious stone – Fano
Do you know the artists behind the zine 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘧 𝘱𝘳𝘦́𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘶𝘴𝘦 which will be launched at L’Hybride?
Laurence Lallier-Roussin (she/he) is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist, trained as a socio-anthropologist. She formerly evolved in the world of Montreal micropublishing, within the En jachère publishing cooperative. Laurence works with the mediums of writing, performance and video. He is also producer and curator of the site-specific project POST-FURIES and the Post-Pistoles cabaret. Laurence has lived in Haute-Gaspésie since 2021.
Fano Maddix is an Acadian storyteller from Moncton, New Brunswick. She continues the oral tradition by shining a contemporary light in the queer and ecofeminist cracks of Acadia folklore. Since her last show, 𝘓𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘰𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘲𝘶𝘦, sci-fi burlesque adaptation (2022), she has teamed up with transdisciplinary collaborators in her creation. She has one foot in the world of storytelling and the other in that of contemporary performing arts. 10 years ago, Fano built himself a small house in an intentional community in Cap-au-Renard in Gespege’wa’gi (Gaspésie). She still lives there, with her dog Heidi.
Let’s meet on March 8 at 3 p.m. This will be an opportunity to dive into the world of wonderful tales with queer and emancipatory glasses!
