Cueilli – Sea Bar Storytelling

Immersive storytelling, botanical tasting, and coastal folklore.
An immersive experience weaving together storytelling, folklore, herbalism, ecology, and botanical tasting.
Inspired by the legend of the selkie, this creation invites participants to cross the threshold between sea and land. Through the story, encounters with coastal plants, and botanical tastings, the landscape gradually reveals itself as a living narrative where folklore, plant knowledge, and imagination converge. This experience offers a sensory encounter with the coastline—a landscape inhabited by memory, imagination, and relationships.
Who is she?
Tesia Hackett is a community herbalist and forager based in Gaspé (Gespeg), on the unceded territory of Mi’kma’ki. Her work is rooted in a living relationship with the land, the plants, and the stories that connect people to a place.
Through *Cueilli*, Tesia brings together herbalism, foraging, and sensory storytelling to foster a deeper connection with the land. Her bitters and botanical creations are crafted in small batches using wild, local, and seasonal plants. These are preparations meant to be savored slowly, in dialogue with the rhythms of the place.
With a background in biodiversity conservation and a commitment to place-based practice, Tesia seeks to nurture a sense of belonging and care. *Cueilli* is an invitation to pay attention to what grows here and to learn to protect what we take the time to know.
