Sauce Piquante Soundsystem is the live experience of Montreal-based label MTL Sauce Piquante. It consists of producer and DJ Oonga, singers and rappers KC and Gioco, and a rotating roster of Montreal-based party musicians. The group was formed in the summer of 2023 in Oonga’s kitchen after a rainstorm ruined an MTL Sauce Piquante show, leaving the musicians with nowhere to go. The group quickly gained recognition in Montreal thanks to their powerful live performances, full of festive improvisations on homemade instruments. MTL Sauce Piquante’s debut album, Cracher le feu (Spit Fire), was released in June 2024.
