About the artist:
A native of Carleton-sur-Mer, Émilie Bernard has lived in Cap-Chat since 2020. She explores natural—ideally wild—landscapes to create drawings, objects, prints, and artist’s books. Her recent work has been exhibited at the Maison de la culture Notre-Dame-de-Grâce (Montreal), Panache (Sept-Îles), the Centre d’art de Kamouraska, AdMare (Magdalen Islands), and the Centre de diffusion Presse Papier (Trois-Rivières). In recent years, she has completed creative residencies in various regions of Canada, as well as in Vermont, Finland, Iceland, Armenia, and France. Her work is regularly supported by the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec and the Canada Council for the Arts. Her pieces are held in numerous private collections and in the City of Montreal’s art collection. In 2025, she received the CALQ Prize for Artist of the Year in Gaspésie.
