James Bay 1975
This documentary film takes us back to the origins of two major revolutions: Hydro-Québec’s rapid expansion with the construction of the La Grande complex and the awakening of the Indigenous nations of Northern Quebec. Quebec dreams of taking its destiny into its own hands by becoming an energy giant on the continent. Meanwhile, in the North, the Cree and Inuit are rising up to protect what they hold most dear: their territory and their culture.
