January’s high-end refreshment stand at L’Hybride – with Emma Desgens
During the colder months, L’Hybride opens its doors to the community as a pop-up bar. Once a month, we showcase an artist from Haute-Gaspésie through intimate gatherings, perfect for informal discussions with the public. The Haute Buvette series offers a friendly social space with a bar and a small food menu—a truly unique and welcoming experience in the heart of winter!
For December, we are hosting writer Emma Desgens!

About the artist
Emma Desgens is an author and cultural worker based in Mont-Saint-Pierre. Her creations resonate with the everyday and the ordinary, combining the fractures that shape us with the gentleness needed to heal them. Drawing inspiration from intimacy, grief, and family ties, she seeks to transcribe the dialogue between what dwells within us and what surrounds us. She has facilitated the Feminist Writing Retreat at Salon58 for several years and co-edited the 2023 anthology 𝘑𝘦 𝘨𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘶𝘮é𝘦𝘴 𝘱𝘳è𝘴 𝘥𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘪 (Mandoline Hybride). She has published in the journals Liberté and Tristesse, and on the web platform Pavillons. She is currently working on her first book. She loves to laugh and enjoys crisp autumn days.
