Open Mic Night + Writing Workshop with Fano Maddix
Remember our amazing open mic nights? They’re back! However, we recently realized that we actually have a stage… but no microphone. And we love it that way.
So, we’re reborn as OPEN MIC and with a new format.
The evening begins with a creative writing session from 5 to 7 pm led by an artist from the Upper Gaspé Peninsula. This time, Fano Maddix will lead a workshop on storytelling and how to perform a text aloud.
Space is limited, and you must register here
*Participation in the workshop is not required to share your creative energy at the open mic!*
Starting at 7:30 pm, we open the doors of Sasquatch for the open mic. The public is invited to come and discover what was created during the workshop and to share their own creations: text, music, dance, projection, performance, or other medium. Once again, in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The Sasquatch bar will be open for drinks.
Open mic nights are accessible and welcoming spaces that allow everyone to explore their artistic side. They offer a free platform for self-expression without judgment. These evenings foster spontaneity, self-confidence, and the discovery of hidden talents. They also allow people to connect with a creative community and experiment in a pressure-free environment. Whether you take the stage or are simply a spectator, open mic nights nurture imagination, boldness, and the desire to create, again and again.
At the end of the year, a zine will be produced, showcasing the most memorable works presented throughout the year.
