PRINCESSES
PRINCESSES is a three-headed Montreal fusion. Influenced by Rage Against the Machine, Marjo and the grit of Shirley, this group is determined to make the fiber of Quebec rock resonate without restraint and in French. Crowned “Future Star iHeart Radio” on Énergie last November and finalist as Espoir 2024 at the most recent GAMIQ, PRINCESSES has been accumulating accolades since the release of a first EP, Face A, in the fall of 2023.
The two leaders, Flavie and Marie-Philippe, are accompanied by a masked drummer, nicknamed Chouchoune, with whom they have created an electrifying and wild universe. Their songs are characterized by an omnipresence of fuzz, refined melodies, sometimes soft, sometimes carried away vocals and long-worked lyrics.
PRINCESSES claims the right to scream, but also to show vulnerability through various subjects, including the questioning of identity, the performance society, the cult of appearance and female sexuality. On stage, PRINCESSES disappoints with complicity and passion. The group aspires to bring new, engaged energy to as many stages as possible.
