Open mic night + writing workshop with Laurence Lallier Roussin

The evening begins with a creative writing session from 5 to 7 pm led by an artist from the Haute-Gaspésie region. This time, Laurence Lallier-Roussier will lead a writing workshop using the body and sensations to awaken the imagination.
Space is limited, and you must register here.
Laurence Lallier-Roussier is a multidisciplinary artist. Her site-specific performance, La pointe mouillée, was presented at FURIES — contemporary dance festival in July 2025. Laurence is the author of Conte bright comme une pierre précieuse (2025), a small book that intersects the political potential of traditional oral fairy tales with queer speculative fiction. She is also the artistic director of the site-specific event POST-FURIES and the Post-Pistoles cabaret, initiatives that disseminate performance art and unclassifiable live arts within community and queer contexts. Laurence lives in Haute-Gaspésie.

*Participation in the workshop is not at all mandatory to come and share your creative impulses at the open mic night!*
Starting at 7:30 pm, the doors of Sasquatch open for the open mic night. The public is invited to come and discover what was created during the workshop and to share their own creations: text, music, dance, projection, performance, or other medium. Once again, in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The Sasquatch bar will be open for drinks.
Open mic nights are accessible and supportive spaces that allow everyone to explore their artistic side. They offer a free stage for self-expression without judgment. These evenings encourage spontaneity, self-confidence, and the discovery of hidden talents. They also allow you to connect with a creative community and experiment in a pressure-free environment. Whether you go on stage or are simply a spectator, open mic nights nurture the imagination, the audacity and the desire to create, again and again.

At the end of the year, a zine will be produced, compiling noteworthy works presented throughout the year.

This project is made possible thanks to the financial support of the Government of Quebec and the MRC de La Haute-Gaspésie, as part of the Cultural Development Agreement.
