Sur l’Adamant – Documentary

L’Adamant is a psychiatric day center, set up on a barge moored on the Seine, in the heart of Paris. Attached to a hospital, the center welcomes outpatients and engages with them in a process of empowerment and acceptance, notably through music, painting and body expression workshops. The filmmaker Nicolas Philibert went to meet the patients of Adamant. What we are shown is the fruit of his numerous visits, during which he gained the trust of these injured, highly medicated individuals. They form a sort of disenchanted and resilient chorus in front of his camera.
