Textile dialogues – Between tradition and current art
Textile Dialogues is a meeting between the Cercle des fermières de Cap-chat and the textile artist Julie Lacroix. This event is an invitation for all residents to come and exchange and discover textile know-how.
Julie Lacroix wants to create links with her community in Haute-Gaspésie, integration into the territory requires meeting its population and sharing our knowledge. A textile artist and craftswoman, she therefore makes a point of wanting to share her practice with the Cercle des fermières, the guardians of the cultural and artisanal textile heritage in Quebec while opening a dialogue with the population.
Sharing our knowledge also means raising awareness of textile issues and encouraging the transmission of artisanal traditions, helping to strengthen multigenerational ties and preserving the cultural heritage of the region.
This event is open to all and we encourage young people to come and share this moment together.
This project is carried out thanks to the financial support of the government of Quebec as well as the MRC of La Haute-Gaspésie as part of the Cultural Development Agreement. Thanks to the Cercle des Fermières and the municipality of Cap-Chat.
