The Incredible and Inerasable Story of Sainte-Dignité-de-l’Avenir – Theater
Following the economic crisis of 1929, the State and the Church orchestrated the colonization of the Haut-Pays de l’Est-du-Québec. Only 30 years later, they are threatening to close around a hundred villages. What followed, at the beginning of the 1970s, was a popular uprising organized around Operations Dignity. The incredible and indelible story of Sainte-Dignité-de-l’Avenir traces the life of the founding settlers who, with meager means, stood up against oppression.
