Near a village located on the border separating Quebec from the United States, the intransigent customs officer Sonia confiscates the contents of the car of Victor, a French chef in need of recognition based in New York. She quickly regrets it when her daughter Lili-Beth decides to take part in a Petits Chefs competition where she seems to have little chance of standing out. Sonia decides to try everything to get help from the charming but exasperating Victor. This more than improbable meeting will bring together an entire village to move beyond the differences and taste the essentials.
