Sainte-Anne-des-Monts is the main service city at the heart of the regional county municipality. Home to many government offices, a hospital, and several educational institutions, Sainte-Anne-des-Monts is also the site of the Maison de la Culture, the Blanche-Lamontagne library, the Francis-Pelletier auditorium, and an exhibition space. The eastern sector of the town, Tourelle, has kept its maritime character and is well known for preserving the oral traditions of the French-speaking world.
Sports enthusiasts will enjoy the arena, the indoor pool, the 18-hole golf course, several parks, playgrounds, and hiking trails. For those who love the water, Sainte-Anne-des-Monts offers a salmon river, a marina, a fishing harbor and Cartier beach, a favourite gathering place for kiteboarders.
Gateway to the Gaspésie National Park, Sainte-Anne-des-Monts is also distinguished by its collection of driftwood works, which has grown in recent years. It is possible to find them on 1st Avenue, at the Peace Garden and on the Exploramer site.
