Lise Roy

Originally from Outaouais, Lise left her native roots at the age of 48 to settle in a “haven of peace” with her partner. What brought her to this small municipality of no more than 200 inhabitants? A thunderbolt. It was during a trip as a teenager that she was hooked and began to cherish the dream of one day returning to settle there. The years pass and during a second trip, she and her partner stop to take a photo of the unmissable La Martre lighthouse. She dreamed so much about this image that framed her wallpaper, until the day she learned that a cottage was for sale. And yes, his dream comes true and it’s the start of a magnificent adventure.

Lise has been working for 12 years to make her corner of the country shine. After running a lodge for 8 years, she began her fourth year as an attendant and tourist guide at the lighthouse. Lise enjoys contact with people, discussing and exchanging with them about our maritime and cultural heritage.

She chose to live in Haute-Gaspésie for its breathtaking wild landscapes where sea and mountains stand out. The wide open spaces and tranquility are what allow him to occupy his free time and recharge his batteries. Lise is also involved in various citizen committees, always with the aim of making the region shine. She even has a hidden talent: she is an exceptional craftsman. “What nature can bring us as an exceptional moment. One evening, I accompanied my partner fishing on Marsoui beach and Mother Nature offered a magnificent spectacle: on one side the setting sun and on the other the full orange moon which rose from the sea to the sky. A grandiose spectacle worthy of a Denis Villeneuve-style science fiction film. »
