Carl Mayotte Quintet

Winner of the 2020-2021 Radio-Canada Jazz Revelation Award, Carl Mayotte is one of the hottest young bassists and jazz musicians in Quebec and Canada right now. His latest album, Carnaval, was nominated for Jazz Album of the Year at ADIS, GAMIQ, and the Prix Opus. For several years, he and his band have been traveling across Quebec, Canada, and more recently Europe, performing music from their four albums.

Transporting the audience on an epic and incredible musical adventure, the Carl Mayotte Quintet’s Carnaval concert will certainly be one of the jazz events to see in 2023-2024. Taken from the latest album by the recipient of the 2022 Félix Jazz Album Award, the music played during the concert is a tribute to great Brazilian composers such as Djavan, Hermeto Pascoal, and many others.
