Ciné-club Temps d’écran – Éviction

Since 2010, Parthenais has welcomed the life of an entire queer community within its walls. They are gay, lesbian, trans and live together in the Centre-Sud district in the heart of Montreal, in a triplex that is falling into ruin. Between the parties which sometimes welcome more than two hundred people until the early hours, the collective dinners, the great joys and the small despairs, this old apartment has transformed the lives of its tenants.
Twelve years later, the building was bought by a wealthy family who wanted to live there, due to gentrification. It’s the end of a legendary space that transformed a decade of the Montreal queer scene. The boxes are too small to contain all the stories that took place within these walls. EVICTION is the story of this page turning, as distraught residents look for a new place to settle, in the midst of a housing crisis and land speculation.
