Conference with Eric Perron – Marcelle Ferron, revolutionary

Come and enjoy a unique experience by attending a fascinating conference on Marcelle Ferron. A pioneer of abstract painting in Quebec, Marcelle Ferron (1924-2001) joined the Automatistes group formed around Paul-Émile Borduas in 1946 and signed the Refus global. Fleeing the conservative regime of Maurice Duplessis which restricted freedoms, she went into exile in France in 1953 with her three young daughters. She continued her artistic production there and became interested in creating glass works. Back in Quebec, she designed around a hundred glass roofs over the years, becoming a leading representative of public art.
