Fano hosts… Stéphanie Bénéteau
Fano Maddix is well-established in the Cap au Renard community, and hosting a visiting storyteller within the chapel walls is a fantastic idea. Stéphanie Bénéteau has accepted the invitation. Words will be shared.
Who are they?
Born to a Franco-Ontarian father and an American mother, Stéphanie Bénéteau spent her youth in Italy. She studied French literature, acted in theater, earned a degree in education, and taught at the elementary level before discovering her true calling as a storyteller in 1994. Her storytelling features a poetic, contemporary voice that breathes new life into ancient tales from global traditions. A dynamic and expressive storyteller, she favors tales about women, always presenting them with liveliness, lyricism, and a touch of humor.
Fano Maddix is an Acadian storyteller originally from Moncton, New Brunswick. She carries on the oral tradition by shining a contemporary light into the queer and eco-feminist cracks of Acadian folklore.
