La Fuite – – alternative rock floral poetry
Cap-au-Renard en Couleurs invites you to meet La Fuite, a Rimouski-based band, at the Chapelle du Cap.
Driven by humanity and the emotions that inhabit it, La Fuite offers alternative rock edged with delicate, floral poetry, a progressive sound. On stage, the band exhibits poetic escape, dystopian rhythms, and fresh textures, offering the audience a universal outlet, an abstraction in groove, contemplation, and gentleness.
La Fuite was born from a desire for externalization and sharing, a desire to unite to dive into human heaviness in order to extract the dreamlike images that may be found there. From this union arises a delicate and complex music punctuated by waves, rustling leaves, and the wind, in tune with the Lower Laurentians environment in which the artists operate.
Since meeting on the Rimouski cultural scene, Gabriel Dufour-Langlois (guitar, vocals), Médéryc Turgeon Chamelot (bass), Jean-Étienne Joubert (drums) and Olivier Gosselin (piano, synthesizers) have built their creative chemistry within various projects, thus establishing the musical foundation of La Fuite. Abandoning the improvised palette of jazz, their band today unveils a new and moving rock sound.
