Malaime Soleil presents “Tempête” to us, a first album born through a storm of abrupt changes in one’s life. A sound that stands out for its oxymoronic quality, juxtaposing the weight of troubles and childish cheerfulness. Stylistically we can speak of alternative pop-rock, but it is with more in-depth listening that we better discern the influences of Quebec trad in the voice, the desert blues in the guitar, the Latin music in the legs, the 80s synthesizers and grooves reminiscent of the 70s, everything gives Tempête.
