Sandveiss

Founded in Quebec City in 2011, SANDVEISS is a heavy rock band that delivers music that is both heavy and melodic, reminiscent of Black Sabbath, Kyuss, Tool, and Mastodon.

Their debut album, “Scream Queen,” released in 2013 and reissued in 2014 on the Sexy Sloth label, won the Heavy Album of the Year award at GAMIQ 2015. That same summer, SANDVEISS performed on the Plains of Abraham during the FEQ (opening for High on Fire and Megadeth) and at the Heavy Montreal festival. 2016 saw the release of the 7″ vinyl EP (“Save Us All,” nominated for a GAMIQ), as well as a tour of Sweden. After several lineup changes and a fruitful writing period, SANDVEISS returned in 2019 with a second album. “Saboteur” is heavy, catchy, and life-saving. The following year, the band released Sandveiss Bloody Sandveiss, a tribute to their origins in the form of four Black Sabbath covers.
