SPURS evening

Learn line dancing with Noel and Julien! Come as you are: SPURS Night is for cowgirls, cowgays, cowtheys, and anyone who wants to get moving, let loose, and dance in unison. No experience necessary. Beginner lessons are offered throughout the evening.

Drawing on the history of LGBTQ+ country and western dance, SPURS Night is a queer line dancing event that blends traditional steps with a wide range of music, from honky-tonk and new country to contemporary pop.

Since 2023, SPURS Nights have been held weekly in Montreal and Toronto. They offer a vibrant, inclusive, and festive nighttime space for queer people and their friends.

This event is presented in collaboration with FURIE.

Noel Transcendance Vezina is an interdisciplinary dance and movement artist. They have been directing SPURS Montréal since December 2023. They firmly believe that everyone can and should dance, a conviction nurtured by teaching hundreds of people of all levels and backgrounds, helping them find their place on the dance floor.

Julien is a musician and ceramicist. He discovered SPURS in the fall of 2024, with no prior dance experience. Inspired by the relationship between music, the body, and community, he quickly developed a passion for teaching, calling, and sharing movement.
