The Planet Smashers & Capable

The ska-punk party is coming to the Sea Shack! The Planet Smashers are celebrating 25 years of party mayhem with their explosive horns and anthems made for dancing, raising a glass, and turning the place upside down. Opening for them is the punk of Capable!

PLANET SMASHERS

It’s true. The Planet Smashers have managed to survive for a quarter of a century by touring the world, partying non-stop, and making some seriously questionable life decisions. A staple of the Canadian music scene, the Smashers have been bringing their punky, new-wave-influenced ska-punk to the four corners of the globe, middle finger raised in one hand and a double Mai Tai firmly clutched in the other. The band has faced more than its fair share of adversity over the years, but has always managed to maintain a positive and often hilarious approach to life. And this admirable attitude shines through in every one of their songs.

Too Much Information is the Planet Smashers’ ninth full-length album. The band adds another string of hits to their 25-year history of celebratory songwriting and provocative revelry. These fourteen songs cover a wide range of themes, from the culture of oversharing (Too Much Information) to romantic obsession (Can’t Stop), to eating way too much ice cream (Brain Freeze), and the infamous incident a few years back when Matt Smasher broke his neck after a show in Sherbrooke (Break My Neck, A Love Song). One thing is for sure: you can’t keep the Smashers quiet for long.

CAPABLE!

“If we wait until we’re ready, we’ll never do anything!” is the motto that has driven Capable! since 2015. Always with a goal in sight, whether it’s a tour, a recording, or a new song, they are constantly progressing. Thanks to over a hundred shows, four EPs, and two GAMIQ nominations, the band has built a solid fanbase. Their journey includes collaborations with various punk bands from Quebec and around the world, performances at several festivals, and organizing their own tours. The members of Capable! are proud to embark on their new adventure by releasing their first album – “Le désordre organisée” (Organized Chaos) – on the Stomp Records label.
