New summer features for 2024 / MRC de La Haute-Gaspésie

– In 2024, we celebrate birthdays:

o 20 years for the Auberge Festive Sea Shack;
o 10 years for Camping Rivière La Martre;
o 15 years for Couleur Chocolat;
o 15 years for the Monique and Gisèle Benoit Center;
o 5 years for the Ultra-Trail des Chic-Chocs;
o 5 years for the Carrefour Aventure creamery;
o 5 years for FURIES — contemporary dance festival;
o 10 years for Green to drink

Thank them for their involvement in the dynamism of the region!

– There are also beautiful births (new things)

o Seaside mountain resort in Mont-Saint-Pierre
– The village square to discover the activities (terrace, kiosks, entertainment, etc.).
– The Bell Tower Room which presents the Bird’s Eye show, an immersive journey to capture the beauty of free flight.
– The Observatory at the top of the mountain revealing the geological history of this glacial valley via the immersive show Odyssey, the hidden face of Mont Saint-Pierre.
o L’Arnak du Cap, an indoor amusement center located in the city center which offers arcade, games room and module, multi-sport simulator, variety of candies, slush and popcorn.
o Chez Poisson is moving into the former premises of “L’Armoire Épicerie Santé” to offer a restaurant, boutique and ready-to-eat restaurant which will be open for lunches and dinners and which highlights our local products.
o Buffet Guay Lafontaine moves into the former “Rôti dans l’bec” and offers a new buffet service in the region! Open every day from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.!
o The Valmont plein air team will be ready to welcome you to its new facilities from June 15. (Please note that for the summer of 2024 the creamery will be closed).
o Distillerie Cap-aux-Péchés is set up in the Rivière-à-Claude church to prepare good spirits for you, but also to highlight the history and heritage of this corner of the country.
o Return of the La Vieille École Art Workshop to L’Anse-Pleureuse.
o The municipality of Marsoui invites you to discover their brand new “Parcours des bancs 9” which will allow you to discover the works of 9 local artists on wooden benches installed in various locations in the municipality.

– Welcome to the new owners

o Manon Lavoie and Sylvain Paquette from the Le Délice motel-restaurant.
o Isabelle Fontaine de la Poissonnerie | Cévic butcher shop.
o Steeve Roberge buys the restaurant part of the Hotel Motel Mont-Saint-Pierre which becomes the Auberge au grain blanc.
o Michel Lapointe and Claudia Ferland from Camping VR Cap à l’ours.

– And finally, many get a makeover

o The team of volunteers from the Tourelle/Ruisseau-Castor sector development association carried out the complete redevelopment of the Ruisseau-Castor coastal park. The trail totaling 14.4 kilometers will be accessible again this summer from the Auberge Festive Sea Shack (new signage, interpretation panels, etc.).
o The Carrefour Aventure ice cream shop is 5 years old this year! To mark this anniversary, it will now have its own identity: Sucre Glace.
o Exploramer will have 2 new exhibitions “Tentacles and Co” and “Exceptional Beings – When Science Competes with Fiction”. The maritime souvenir and craft shop has also been given a new look.
o A new exhibition room at the Société d’histoire de La Haute-Gaspésie which will focus on the history of Cap-Chat and its old photos in collaboration with Steeve Landry who will launch his new book “Cap-Chat, captivating and shimmering » on June 14 at the Distillerie Cap-Chat (5 to 7).
o Camping Au Bord de la Mer adds 3 new small ready-to-camp cabins with an electric vehicle connection. Opening of ‘L’Arrêt Gourmand’ – Signé Vé, a small food truck offering a simple menu of world cuisine with a Gaspé flavor.
o A small dining room for the Cantine Chez Tom has been set up to accommodate customers.
o Pizzeria 132 has had a makeover by covering the terrace with a view of the sea.
o Development of a new terrace and a new food offering at L’Abri de l’Anse de Cap-Chat.
o The Village Grande Nature Chic-Chocs opening of the nautical base with floating amusement platform.
o Parc et Mer Mont-Louis has adopted a new brand image and a new transactional site.
o The municipality of Sainte-Madeleine-de-la-Rivière-Madeleine is moving forward with its historic sea trips (former Explorer Zodiac) by launching a new online reservation platform!
o The Pêche l’Aventurier boat is moving correctly to the Quai de Tourelle for the 2024 summer season.
o Le Petit Marché of artisan movers on the Route du Parc right next to Stéphanie Blanchet, ceramist.
o Panora ⸱ Loges fluviales adds 3 new small one-bedroom lodges to its offering on their seaside site.
o Gaspésie National Park will offer a shuttle service for trail running as well as guided hiking at Mont Ernest-Laforce.
